The Plea of General Torrente, The First BattleThe First Battle: Grit
Torrente's letter had weathered several important events in the Basaltic Republic. This is what gave the letter its first nick.
Brimstone. Murk. Grit. That's what his lure shines through. Barely able to make out any geoforms in the confusion, Colonel Corvus swam and felt around for any rocks that were right in the environment that were not yet destroyed. As he hopped, skipped, and flipped his thin fin, he had to trudge through the taste of the water, which was often fouled by salty rocks near the seamounts and the impurities propogated by sunken treasure ships. Ultimately, Corvus' head slammed into the saturated wood of one of these vessels, only to be met with a nauseating fluid emanating from a large snake-like form. His vision was lost for a moment; the contrasts he made out were largely compromised by his mild concussion. Not a minute too soon, however, he shed light on the reptile; a large s
Chakan the Forever Mare: On the SmoozeNothing could stop the Smooze:
An arrogant, but toxic, purple plague fiend that enrobed the land and robbed all sentient beings -- pony and non-pony alike -- of their emotion, leaving only sociopathic shells.
Even though the Flutter Ponies of the last age were successful in driving back the Smooze threat, even after they were strengthened with flume extract, they were soon lost to other evils.
Even now, the mucous sludge has returned to lay waste to everything else. As the witches who brought it here warned, I can't escape it.
The Plea of General TorrenteDear Princess Celestia,
Until now, the story I'm about to tell you will never be found in a book. It is often said that the history of Equestria was written in your image, but like many images, such as those of the eyes, they only tell as much of the story as is possible. We only observe what we can, but sometimes we are afraid to see everything else. This is a story that has gone missed for centuries, and it's long overdue for your subjects to know of our adventures.
As I watch my esca dangle from my head the way you see your horn, I identify myself not so much as a pony, but as one of the many species of sea pony, residing in what we called the Basaltic Republic. When we came to the section of your sea where we take pride in inhabiting, our ancestors were a group of nomadic peoples and species: You may have seen the hippocampi, the most common of the namesake sea ponies. You also have the kelpies, magic users such as myself not unlike the unicorns
Chakan the Forever Mare: On Striking SwordDespite inspiring my brother, Shining Armor, to be all he was for the Royal Guard, Striking Sword swore a vendetta against me and my family...
During Queen Chrysalis' Royal Wedding Offensive on Canterlot, his brave, yet vain, efforts to rescue Princess Cadence and marry her for himself had pulverized his heart...
Even now, his loneliness and jealousy had fueled his magic abilities, but decayed him into a soulless derelict...
If he won't be proud of what he could accomplish, then he'll be prouder of having been dispatched the way he'll be.
Chakan the Forever Mare: On the Flim Flam BrothersNot long after they were driven away from Ponyville, the Flim Flam brothers returned in full force, building up an unprecedented business entity called a corporation.
Their infinite profits abroad were enough to bribe the people into dismissing their livelihoods and silence any authorities.
They went so far as to unleash a dangerous blight on Sweet Apple Acres and cheat my friend's family out of it with a discount buying price.
There's still time for me to collect the debt of morals they have from the farm sale, especially when I cannot buy it myself.
Chakan the Forever Mare: On the Parasprite QueenParasprites...they hatch...they fly...they inveigle...they eat without bottom.
They eat anything in sight and hatch maggots in their cud...
Never have I ever approached such cute little derelict bugs, but they are not simple creatures. Even now, it seems that the queen parasprite is setting up for the big score; an infestation that could leave half of Equestria in eternal dearth.
I know of the one way to stop them, but it will not be sufficient to thwart their plans. It will require the most musical and most lethal performances of my life, but we have to dispatch them all.
Chakan the Forever Mare: On Sunset ShimmerI knew about Sunset Shimmer and her penchant for adventures. Not only does she have a name similar to mine from a past life, but she was once one of Princess Celestia's proteges gone bad.
It pains me to see that she was so depraved to where I had to pursue her in a parallel world and change species just to stop her from bringing down Equestria itself.
To my dear Princess Celestia, from a faithful subject, I promise to bring her home, and perhaps have her face the justice that has simmered for her for many an age.
