Snake: Hard? What can make a guy that hard?
Otacon: There are lots of things that can harden a person, like - in his case - getting sent to Mars, fighting demons from Hell, single-handedly beating back an invasion of Earth by Hell itself, and still having time to tend to the rabbits.
Snake: I guess the rabbits can make someone hard.
Otacon: Yes, they can. But, note that he has all sorts of destructive weapons: his rocket launcher, plasma gun, and his UAC-issued BFG-9000.
Snake: I'll get him. I'll just avoid his manhood at all costs.
